2025 Winter Surprises Old Man & The Snake

An old Hoodoo doctor used to have a pet snake that would slither through his home and often be found wrapped protectively around his neck. He was a powerful Hoodoo doctor and people visited him from miles around. They would be sitting at his table talking with the old man while he does work for them and suddenly feel something crawl up their leg. They would jump up and scream the old man would laugh and say it's part of the price they pay for the work to be done. 2025 is like the old man and his snake. People will be looking for one thing and get another, a shocking surprise they didn't see coming. Just remember, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. So will the challenges of 2025 be.

What is the Spirit of Winter?

image
Spiritual Significance
Seasons celebrations, gifts, good food and fun is what the winter season brings and people in general enjoy. In traditional Hoodoo this season brings clarity and truth which can sometimes be shocking. However, the shock factor is a catalyst forcing you to make a decision. Winter is a crossroad. I did a video about crossroads you can view it here.

What to Look For
Be ready for revelations. It might even be a spiritual awakening for some. The season will pull the mask off a lot of people and reveal who they truly are. What is done in darkness comes to light during the winter season. Secret and hidden things are revealed, some can be painful but all are necessary.

Hoodoo Focus for the Season
In the spiritual season of Winter your power is in your decisions. It is best to do Hoodoo works that focus on strength, clarity and opening your path. This is the time when you are spiritually closer to the ancestors, so use it to help obtain guidance from them in critical decisions you will face. This is the season for divination work, finding truth and understanding on where you are and what decisions you must make.

Black Moon Divination December 29-31st

Between December 29-31st the moon moves between earth and the sun, causing it's dark side to face our earth and appear invisible. This dark side of the moon brings a unique energy that uncovers hidden things and reveals answers. During these nights is the best time to ask for answers to questions you may have about 2025, aspects of your life and even truth about certain people around you. I recommend having reflective things (mirrors, aluminum foil, jewelry, clear glass of water etc) including a candle around your divination space to attract the spirit of the moon. Give it a try and see how it works for you.

Hoodoo Hair Growth Tips

Want to grow your hair? Here are some old time remedies and practices. Clip the ends of you hair during a new moon and it will grow faster. Wash your hair frequently with a tea made of peach leaves and it will fast. Can also rinse your hair with a room temperature tea made with sage for hair growth. A hair oil made with peanut oil, sage and rosemary is said to make your hair super health and promote hair growth. Cutting your hair after a full moon will make your hair thin.

Pointed Scissors in Hoodoo

Stops illness and spellwork
There is an old time Hoodoo belief in using scissors to cut away something you don't need or block spellwork sent your way. If you place a pair of metal scissors under your pillow with the sharp ends pointed towards your headboard, it will block any type work directed at you. It will also stop negative spirits from entering your dreams. If you have cramps at night while in bed, the scissors will stop them. Rid your home of spellwork using scissors, sage and a red chili pepper. First, find the center point of your home. Next, on a plate place scissors pointed away from the entrance and burn sage along with a red chili pepper. Open the front door to allow spellwork and negativity to leave your space.

Pneumonia Home Remdies

I'm not a doctor. These are old time remedies people used.
Back in the day people could'nt afford doctors and had to use home remedies and rely on root doctors for healing. Applying poultices to the chest was very common. A single amount (tablespoons) of single ingredients such as mullien leaves, onion, nutmeg, basil leaves and even whole ears of corn were wrapped in cotton cloth. Hot water was poured on the poultice (make sure it's not too hot). In Hoodoo the poulitice is prayed over, asking for healing and thanking the plants used for their healing power. This was layed on the chest until the cloth cooled which could be reheated with a little hot water.
